My wife and I are in our early 50 s. Our kids are grown (28 and 24) and we prefer to cruise with fewer kids. While there are kids on board HAL ships, Club HAL does a great job of keeping them entertained, and we found that parents seem to do a better job controlling their kids on HAL versus on other lines. My guess is because HAL has been traditionally known as catering towards an older crowd.
My wife and I love the Pinnacle Grill with the great Northwest hotel rwanda soundtrack styled menu and incredible atmosphere, however our new favorite specialty dining venue on the Eurodam is the Asian flair of Tamarind. From the minute hotel rwanda soundtrack you walk in the door you are greeted by staff that bow (wish I could teach that to my wife).
Holland America Line (and the MS Eurodam) are like a second home to my wife and I because of the incredible food, ships, but most of all, because of  the people. They welcome us back each time and we truly feel like family.
