See a movie at the Chinese in Hollywood. Hollywood in general is not very exciting and doesn't live

Blizzcon is approaching fast, and I was lucky enough to have purchased a ticket. This will be my first time in California and my 2nd visit to america (The first being to Florida a few years ago). I will be in California for 2 weeks. I'm looking for ideas to do, having never been there before. I have some ideas my self (Like theme parks and visits to the beach etc.) but I am just wondering what suggestions the wonderful MMO-Champion community have. Anywhere that I can get on public transport vacation rentals in south padre texas would be preferable, as I don't intend to drive while I am out there.
OCTA (Orange County Transit Authority) has an excellent bus system. You can get anywhere in Orange County using it. I recommend visiting Disneyland (obviously ^^) and Knott's Berry Farm (if you have time). Avoid Santa Ana and Westminster, and Garden Grove to a degree, since there's a lot of crime in those areas. If you want to do some shopping, vacation rentals in south padre texas Fashion Island in Newport Beach is great, but some of the places there can be expensive. Drive PCH from Newport Beach to Laguna Beach for a beautiful drive.

6. Rent a car forget the bus, the Urban Sprawl that Starts in Orange County in the south and ends in Valencia vacation rentals in south padre texas to the north is about 100 miles, from the beach in Santa Monica to Riverside its over a 100 miles. the buses are good only in small sections of the city, to really see the sights you need a car.
I should point out if your British vacation rentals in south padre texas in LA, you will have a great time. Californians generally enjoy having British friends. I should point out again get the Car if you can. You will hate life if you have to rely on the OCTA, or Metro. I know since I am currently taking buses.
Thanks for the advice Gothicshark, I know Orange county and LA are a while a way, but going to be spending a bit of time in both Was planning to go to hollywood aswell, maybe I will end up getting a car. Make it a bit easier to get around
If you are interested in movies, you might enjoy taking a tour of Warner Brothers' backlot in Burbank. Sony and Paramount could be fun as well. Or you could just go to Universal and take their tram ride at their park (not as good, but easier to plan).
If you like music, you might want to check and see what is playing at the following venues: Whiskey A Go Go, Troubadour, The Greek, and The Hollywood bowl. There are other venues but these are the best/most iconic and LA. The Wiltern and Palladium vacation rentals in south padre texas are decent alternatives as well.
Now to burn off all those calories go to Griffith Park in Burbank, find the main access road leading to the radio tower at the top and hike your ass up there. This is where the Hollywood sign is. There is a fense, you can walk around. There is even a footpath lol. There is a no tresspassing sign, don't worrry its covered in graffiti and unreadable so you can feign ignorance. Climb into the O of the Hollywood sign and have your picture taken!
The Aquarium of the Pacific is a nice one in Long Beach, and it's nearby the Queen Mary, so you can hit up both. While in Long Beach, you can eat at Sushi Studio for some truly fantastic sushi or Royal Cup Cafe for delicious coffee and paninis.
Another alternative for food is kind of far from the convention center, no matter which location you go to, but Slater's 50/50 is worth a visit. The signature 50/50 burger is 50% ground beef, 50% ground bacon and 100% delicious.
((I should also point out that many Southern Californians vacation rentals in south padre texas 'Order Off the menu' meaning we don't use the actual menu but create our own things as we order, This has caused the birth of Secret vacation rentals in south padre texas menus, many popular places have them.))
Universal Studios is alright. vacation rentals in south padre texas Not many rides and they are fairly tame, but the movie theme can make it sort of fun. The studio backlot tour is a classic. There is a lot of shopping and some restauramts/nightclubs there too.
And if you have never been, I urge you to eat at Medieval Times. You get to watch sword fighting and jousting in an arena, see the horses up close in their stalls in the lobby and they have a small museum of old torture chamber devices.
As a local and a person who doesn't like super touristy things, it's hard for me to think of things that might be interesting to do that aren't just overhyped for their tourism value. Whenever I try to plan things for visiting company to do, they always have radically different ideas.
How long as you in Southern California? That will make a big difference as to how to invest your time. What sort of transportation options will you have (rental, ability to borrow car, rely on family, rely on public transport)? LA is a driving city and our public transport is not especially great. vacation rentals in south padre texas Where in Europe vacation rentals in south padre texas are you from? What sort of things do you not get to see much that you think might be available in California?
The Venice boardwalk is pretty fun and you will see some great characters there. I took a friend when she visited me from afar and she loved it. I think hugging wacky hobos was her favourite part of the trip, but she is also crazy.
See a movie at the Chinese in Hollywood. Hollywood in general is not very exciting and doesn't live up to the hype (it is mostly just LA with costume jewellery on), but there are some cool things to do.
A drive along PCH either north of LA or south through OC is a good suggestion if you have access to a car. I used to do a drive along PCH several nights a week and it was so nice to take off the t-tops, roll down the windows and just zoom along.
I've always want to go to this but never have. My friends who live in LA proper go sometimes and love it. It's an outdoor movie showing in Hollywood Forever (famous cemetery where lots of celebrities are buried). They show a lot of classics and scary movies, so it's supposed to be pretty fun.
Roscoes and Norms are sort of local culture, In N Out shouldn't be missed. Some of the food trucks in LA are awesome. Get some real Mexican, although we have a lot of good Tex-Mex food too which seems to be more appealing to a wider audience.
Museums, if you like 'em: LACMA, Norton Simon, or the Getty, if you like art. La Brea Tar Pits if you like natural history, right next to LACMA. vacation rentals in south padre texas The California Science Center is great. Oh, and the Petersen Museum is fun if you like cars (and actually vacation rentals in south padre texas even if you don't).
I love Union Station. If you're taking the trains or subway at any point, it's worth a detour vacation rentals in south padre texas stop. Speaking, a lot of our red line stations vacation rentals in south padre texas are decorated pretty cool if you're into the local art scene. Hollywood Highland is my favourite.
