I had planned to post this Friday before I went for my biopsy but didn t have time, so the first couple of paragraphs are from Friday, June 8. I ve already decided this was going to be a Marsha Brady column but I ll try and keep it to a minimum. It was a rough couple of days at the old bat cave, so it s nice to be home and not have to work today. The downside is I have to be at the hospital at 9:30 today and they aren t doing the procedure until 11:00 a.m. and then to torture you more, they make you wait ten days for the results. That s probably too much information, so on to Labron James and the Miami Heat. He was intense and determined and gifted. I can t understand why so many people don t like him, which is what I said to my husband and two minutes later a commentator said the same thing. One of those wow moments. Update: Miami won again and will play Boston Saturday air and hotel package deals to las vegas I believe. It was a good game. Photo by Kat.
Right now, it s Sunday air and hotel package deals to las vegas afternoon and the husband is in the living room watching cable and napping and I m in the bedroom streaming stupid movies I m not really watching. I keep saying to my self, I can sleep for a while, then get up and write the Korner, but that never seems to work out. A perfect example was poor Carolyn s column, Sundays with Baja Belle. I didn t scroll down far enough (to the next page) and thinking half asleep, I posted it, not setting it to format to Baja Belle, but to me and not only that, it was missing air and hotel package deals to las vegas three quarters of the story. Gawd, I felt like an idiot but I should know better than to do anything when I first wake up. If you read it early in the morning, please take another look. It s a lot longer. Photo by Kat.
You do know the next few postings are going to be weird, I can just feel it. Seriously, who wants to tune into Kat s Korner, hoping to read the San Felipe Scoop, as are treated to the Adventures of Kat at Iowa Methodist air and hotel package deals to las vegas Hospital. No, I won t bore you with the details; it just felt like someone slugged me in the ribs and I wasn t supposed to drive or do anything for two days. Not that I do much on the weekend, other than lob around and watch movies, but this time I have a legitimate excuse. Thursday evening after leaving the bat cave, without calling the husband because I didn t want to wake him up, I went to the car part store and got some fuel injector cleaner to add with the fill-up ($3.19 per gallon) and then decided to stop and get a pedicure. If you ve not had a real pedicure, where they massage your legs too, then you are missing heaven. Especially if the water is jetting and the chair is massaging. One brother was doing my feet while his sister was doing my nails. I felt like trail trash royalty. So, it turns out my husband wasn t sleeping and he was worried my car hadn t started at the bat cave and the two other places he would have gone besides the nail salon here would have been Hyvee or Walmart. It was cute to have someone care about you enough to look for you. He went next door and got Mexican food and we went home with soft polished feet, Mexican food and a happier husband. He goes to the Neurological Surgeon tomorrow for his opinion on his surgery on his neck, but it s a four hour procedure and with lung problems, he s quit smoking and I have cut down immensely and do not smoke around him. I have really decided to quit too, but it ain t easy. Okay, so I want to find out about the Clam Festival planned for June 17. I thought you only ate clams in months that end in r but what do I know. I think the first one they had it was called a Seafood Festival and if I remember correctly, it went over like a lead balloon. I think it was in August where weather just may have played a part in it. Evidently, they are bringing chefs in to prepare different dishes with clams and they ll have music and libations. It should be fun and it s on the Malécon. Photo by Kat.
Vivian Scott, daughter of Seaside Susie, air and hotel package deals to las vegas is working air and hotel package deals to las vegas hard to get something done about the outrageous wait times at the borders. Evidently, there was a 5 1/2 hour wait over TJ way, but it so refreshing to see someone actually get out and try and do something about it. Read here:
Dear Baja Image Committee and Tourism Friends, I just saw this article in the San Diego North County Times about the border wait times at San Ysidro over the Memorial Day weekend—5 1/2 hours! This is a very real and serious deterrent to tourism to Baja California. Click here . I also wrote a letter to my local newspaper about a related border crossing issue. My letter was published in the Las Vegas Sun on May 13. Here is the link to my letter as well: Click here. Along with getting the U.S. State Department Travel Warning eliminated, I believe we need to focus our efforts on getting the U.S. government to do something about these horrendous wait times at the border. The U.S. should be concerned about the economic impact to San Diego, other border towns, and even tourist destinations such as Las Vegas. Perhaps we can talk about this issue on our next conference call? Vivian Scott, Chair, Tourism Committee, air and hotel package deals to las vegas United States-Mexico Chamber of Commerce; Member, Baja Image Committee. Good job Vivian and keep up the good work. June 17 is the Clam Festival , not the Calm Festival, air and hotel package deals to las vegas although it could be touted as the Calm Clam Festival being held on the Malécon.
The Mexico Tourism Board says international tourism to Mexico increased in the past year, despite a travel advisory from Texas Gov. Rick Perry's administration warning Texas families to stay out of Mexico during spring break because of escalating drug violence. The travel advisory, which urged citizens to "avoid traveling to Mexico" altogether, was issued in March by the Texas Department of Public Safety after grisly reports of drug-related border violence in Mexico alarmed the international community. Despite that, the Mexican Ministry of Tourism air and hotel package deals to las vegas reported Thursday that 4.99 million international tourists air and hotel package deals to las vegas visited air and hotel package deals to las vegas Mexico in the first four months of this year, up 5.3 percent compared to the same period last year. At least not everyone is falling for the spend your dollars in the US rather than Mexico. Sure, there is violence in parts of Mexico, but none where we Americans are living and visiting and certainly not in San Felipe. The husband is getting ready to leave for work so I m going to save this draft and come back to it after he leaves. Photo by Kat
There s a lot of talk about new balance air and hotel package deals to las vegas requirements at the banks $2,000 unless you have a home in a trust and then it s half and you can use it as long as it s replenished each month. air and hotel package deals to las vegas They also want to see a history of your banking. You are not required air and hotel package deals to las vegas to have an FM3 to buy in the Federal zone and if you don t want to pay the fees, you can cancel air and hotel package deals to las vegas it (FM3), but it has to be canceled one month before it expires. Then you can get a tourist visa at the border. I don t know if this applies to corporations; air and hotel package deals to las vegas I doubt it. Unless you plan to immigrate, you may as well have a tourist visa. However, you can t work in Mexico without an FM3 and working papers. air and hotel package deals to las vegas I m sure that hasn t changed. A lot of changes, but keep in mind it s the end of the presidential term and in July, a new president will be elected and by November or January, we may find all the immigration laws changed again. One thing certain about Mexico is nothing s certain. From what I understand, you have to appear in person to cancel your FM3. There is some question as to whether or not you can only get one tourist visa per year, but that hasn t been verified. It s Manic Monday and let s hope this week goes by fast. Try and stay out of the hot sun during the hottest time of the day and if you re visiting, be sure and use block, especially if it s a bit cloudy. You ll be burned and not even know it. Personally, I can t wait to lay in the hot sun (for about five seconds) and then jump in the Sea of Cortez. That sounds so delightful. I want to thank Sam Grubb, Carolyn Richardson and Bruce Barber, Kat s Korner contributors, for their wonderful writings, and all three are as different as a bag of colored M M s. Don t forget air and hotel package deals to las vegas about Sam Grubb in person at the Los Arcos Restaurant, reading stories, some of which you ve read on Kat s Korner. air and hotel package deals to las vegas Sure hope I won the lottery this weekend. I d love to be there. Break a leg Sam! Remember, the Sweet Spot is closed Monday through Wednesday; open again on Thursday. I m sure you ve all heard about Calimax building a store in San Felipe. Okay, so they are supposed to hire 74 people but how many folks are going to go out of business if Calimax has a pharmacy, air and hotel package deals to las vegas bakery, meat market and have you ever counted the pharmacies and corner drug stories in San Felipe? Oh well, nothing we can do about it.
So, it s legitimately Monday morning 8:11 Iowa time which means it s 6:11 a.m. in San Felipe air and hotel package deals to las vegas and already it s around a bit warm. It s going to be sunny here today but last night we had one heck of a thunder and lightening storm. Pretty cool to look at and again, it reminded me of lightening over the Sea of Cortez. Enjoy your day in paradise. Thanks for stopping by.
Oh dear! The Calimax first, then signals instead of stop signs? I have been SO happy with the quality of the small grocery stores that opened in the last two years. Is Calimax related to OXXO??? I still have not been in one of those. Oh well, progress?
