I don t know how he got in my room, how he got my debit card. But he got like the best wines, the best restaurants, room service. He got clothes and the whole ball of wax, said Barak, was later able to get his money back.
During the 1930s and early 1940s, sears rent a car clearwater fl you saw a spate of films, like High Sierra, featuring anti-heroes. The protagonists were often operating outside of the law, but were portrayed as sympathetic, even admirable people.
Such characters personified the feelings and sympathies of much of the public, who'd seen banks foreclose on homes and farms, who'd seen businesses disappear overnight, and once prosperous, or at least solvent individuals turned into beggars.
Sure, the banks refunded the money, but they they go get it back from the vendor. The hotels, or other vendors, ultimately lost, not the banks. 7 votes #1.6 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 10:14 AM EDT rockmebritney
Even if the banks "ate" it (which isn't a given), it caused quite a bit of grief for the victimized credit card holders, and could have affected their credit ratings. If the banks threw their respective weight around and forced sears rent a car clearwater fl the vendors to "eat" it, then it cost the vendors money.
Just shows what can happen if you don't go to the front desk and return your keys and check out. Can't happen if you do. But so many people just leave the room. My guess is that the guy just followed housekeeping around, sears rent a car clearwater fl came in while they were cleaning, and acted as if the room was his and that we was going to stay longer. Then called the front desk to extend. 5 votes #1.10 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 10:47 AM EDT Jax A
Not anymore. For convenience, they slip your folio (bill) under your door very early in the morning before you leave so that you can take a look at it. If it looks right, you just leave, no need for the old hassle of checking sears rent a car clearwater fl out at the front desk since there are no keys to return anymore, those magnetic sears rent a car clearwater fl keycards just get deactivated automatically. 10 votes #1.11 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 10:47 AM EDT TFO-killswitch

Yeah....Mark..great ideal...thats about 650,000 sears rent a car clearwater fl people living on the streets on any given day in America....we can send them to jail/prison at the cost of $50 a day per person....we taxpayers would love that!! NOT!!
BTW: The GOP/Tea Bangers wouldnt like your suggestion....they feel jail/prison is too good for the poor...and it would take tax money away from starting new wars, because Republicans consider war, shovel ready jobs... 7 votes #1.15 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 12:19 PM EDT Avenger-2464988
He doesn't sound homeless too me.... He found a way to keep a roof over his head and even now he will have room and board for quite some time.....When all is lost you do things out of desparation. this guy sounds like a fairly sears rent a car clearwater fl smart man too figure this deal out and get away with for so long. The risk of jail probably didn't seem so bad compared to living on the streets wondering where your going to find shelter and your next meal you dug out of the trash bin. We all know this is wrong but when your down to the point your literally trying to just survive you do things because you have too not because you want too. 6 votes #1.16 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 12:40 PM EDT drainbramage
The Edgewater Inn in Seattle (where the Beatles stayed) charged us for a bottle of champagne that we had bought at Safeway - they just charge you for whatever is in the garbage can in the room. #1.17 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 1:09 PM EDT Renerman
now the justice system will cost taxpayers more than the banks and hotels lost and PRICE will be on the streets again to apply his trade.might even get a health checkup before he is turned loose. #1.19 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 6:20 PM EDT
How will they collect it? By threatening to house him in jail forever? By threatening to garnish non-existent sears rent a car clearwater fl income? A lien on a home he will never buy? 15 votes #3.1 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 9:32 AM EDT Urban Cowboy
sears rent a car clearwater fl I don't think prison is "up in style" sears rent a car clearwater fl for many people. Maybe he'll get food and shelter, but carrying sears rent a car clearwater fl soap-on-a-rope in the showers and hoping not to get beaten up by other inmates doesn't sound like the high life to most normal people. 7 votes #3.3 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 10:50 AM EDT Urban Cowboy
Jax: Urban was being sarcastic, which was obvious on the face of it. I fully enjoyed it, and believe there is no standard, appropriate sears rent a car clearwater fl emoticon to symbolize sarcasm. If he had used an emoticon or "/sarcasm" (meaning: end of sarcastic statement) I feel it would have diminished the post. Like someone having to explain a punchline to a special needs person. It was a perfectly executed statement obvious to 99.9% of the world. 7 votes #3.7 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 11:49 AM EDT Mark Taft
As well as being forced to go back to the MD 20/20 and Thunderbird he used to drink, instead of the fine wines he enjoyed at those nice hotels, using other people's money. As well as settle for a cardboard box or an underpass instead of a comfy bed with widescreen TV, Egyptian cotton satin sheets, and room service at his beck and call. And back to the hunger center or soup kitchen instead of the 5-star restaurants he was eating at...at this point, McDonald's would be a luxury now. And ragged, hand-me-down clothes instead of tailored suits. At least he enjoyed being down and out on South Beach. #3.12 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 10:19 PM EDT cc in st. louis
Sounds a lot like what is going on at the White House. The resident keeps telling us that it is some guy named Bush, that keeps running up the tab and causing all the problems. Wonder if we will be able to get our money back after he is evicted. The Management and Security there must be pretty shoddy. There was a homeless couple that lived there for 8 years. They even took the rugs with them when they left. 17 votes #5 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 8:05 AM EDT earthgirl
Paul: It's Sunday, a day of rest. Get to your place of worship, even in your yard, and let your thinking cells have the day off and then start the week anew. Take a quick look at the economic and moral conditions this country was in before President Obama took office. And then add the number of issues that were hidden from sight, and many that haven't been uncovered yet from the previous tenants. That 2000-2008 administration ran under the label of 'God spoke to me.' If God did, bush didn't hear correctly when God said (shortened), Do No Harm! President Obama has no need to spout his beliefs, he lives them. Prez Obama is FOR ALL the people, each and every one of us, rich/poor, young/old, white/black, gay/straight. sears rent a car clearwater fl We are all in this together, for today and tomorrow, Vote Democratic in all elections. 28 votes #5.1 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 8:52 AM EDT Rob-3982985
Wow Paul. Way to show your "red voter" intelligence. How in the hell does this have anything to do with the President or former President? What a sad, pathetic life you must lead. 16 votes #5.2 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 8:54 AM EDT Rick-7570

Paul, your tiresome and pointless political whining is completely irrelevant sears rent a car clearwater fl to this news topic, sears rent a car clearwater fl but you just couldn't resist the opportunity to inject politics into a non-political crime story. Sonya:: President Obama is not for you and you're not for him? Well, you're not for him because he is married-- has a wife and two daughters-- so he's not looking. He's not for you? I wonder if it is because he is a Democrat or he's a cut above you. #5.9 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 12:45 PM EDT Bullet171
The customer can still go to the desk and make sure they are checked out. However, in our species quest to be as lazy as possible, most would rather assume sears rent a car clearwater fl they are all set. 3 votes #8.1 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 11:09 AM EDT Sunlitensmiles
if you have a car in the hotel lot, if you check out at the desk before moving the car out of the lot you are charged for parking.....unless you do not mind waiting half an hour while the " really intelligent " person in the guard house checks......your receipt is meaningless, by the way. So best to keep the key-card that lets you in and out of the lot, till you are able to shred it. #8.2 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 12:20 PM EDT TiredVoter-951582
The "perp" was homeless,,he took some intiative,,and resolved the problem for awhile,,I sears rent a car clearwater fl don't know about everyone else,,but I kind of admire him,,Oh Yeah,,things like this put a burden on all of us,,BUT,,the same people he ripped off,,are the same ones that would see him on the street and yell,,"get a job",,so,,,he did,,he got a job using their credit cards. He obviously has a certain level of intelligence to have been able to get away with this for as long as he did,,,but more than that,,,what does this say about the level of intelligence of the employees of the hotels,,and those are the ones that are that are in control of your cards,,YOW,,thats sears rent a car clearwater fl scary. 15 votes #9 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 9:10 AM EDT MM-584706
Arthur-348233 ....Had the same reaction. Not saying it was right, but I do admire his ingenuity ! Somehow I feel better towards this guy than I feel towards people who never get a job but keep taking welfare, free housing and medical with no attempt to ever contribute to society. Not much difference in the crime as far as I am concerned. Many people have confused the "safety net" with a "way of life", at least this guy did his crime in style. sears rent a car clearwater fl I'll bet he took one of those nice $90 terrycloth robes too ! 7 votes #9.1 - Sun Jul 1, 2012 9:25 AM EDT MM-584706
