Once we got down to the Low Country, we were overjoyed. It was absolutely gorgeous. There were beach houses everywhere. Basically, it combines the laid-back attitude of a beach front town with the classic style of a southern city.
The downtown area was a lot of fun. Even though it was the off-season, there was still music to be heard. We were not there for the music, or even for the delicious ribs, however. We were there to hang out on the beach.
I have been to nicer beaches Such as Myrtle, and I have definitely been on beaches during nicer weather, but I have never been quite so overjoyed to be able to pass the afternoon just sitting out on the sand and watching the ocean. It was absolutely glorious.

There are several additional east coast and southern states we want to visit next year  including Virginia and maybe Louisiana. SC seems to have a blending of the two. You have the feeling of the southern hospitality along with the hustle and bustle of the eastern seaboard.
