Andrew Zimmerman weather report los angeles is the host of this off the wall television show, Bizarre Foods. As a chef, food writer, he has a great sense of what is tasty, and he also has a sense of what is not tasty. On this program, he travels the world to uncover, as the show title implies, the most bizarre foods imaginable. Most are very disgusting by Americans standards, but he tries at least one bite of it all. For each of the first six seasons, there is one episode that stands out more than the rest on the gross scale.
Season 3: Andrew travels to Japan where the cuisine gorged on included tuna eyeballs, raw goat testicles and scrotum, raw horse mane, just to name a few, which he washed down with a nice, thick, mayonnaise milkshake.
Season 4: Not to be outdone in previous seasons, Andrew weather report los angeles travels to Tanzania. Here, he partakes in a dish of coagulated (clotted) cow's blood. The blood is collected weather report los angeles by shooting an arrow into the animal's jugular vein and draining. What is most fascinating about this is that it doesn't kill the cow. It heals and does not harm the animal.
Season 5: Mongolia is all about the street vendors. There he walks around and samples a variety of bugs that are sautéed or fried, but the most bizarre part of this episode is the goat heads on display at the street market that are still covered in fur, with eyes, like they just came off of the animal. A head is selected, and a stew is made for Andrew s sampling.
Season 6: Season 6 offered the most bizarre episode to date, which took place in Syria. weather report los angeles Andrew participated in the slaughter of a camel to be prepared for dinner that night. It was a little too graphic for me, but it is still a testament to the foods and how they are prepared in other countries.
As you can see, this may not be a travel show that everyone will enjoy, but it truly is fascinating to see the different cultures, weather report los angeles how people live, and the foods that they eat. Bizarre Foods will be renamed in its seventh season, becoming Bizarre Foods America. weather report los angeles It will be interesting to see what foods he comes up with in the United States. We might be surprised.
