Everyone who travels to Tahiti and French Polynesia falls in love with the beauty of the South Pacific. I've been lucky and have traveled to French Polynesia twice--once with Renaissance Cruises and the second time on the Aranui 3 passenger freighter .
This cruise freighter serves as a supply ship for the Tuamotu and Marquesas Islands north of Tahiti. These two archipelagos are not as touristy as the Society Islands, but are just as beautiful in their own way. My husband Ronnie and I loved watching the deck hands work with the cargo, and were astonished each day to see the type of items being off-loaded--everything from frozen chickens to SUVs!
