Saw KISS last year with my kids. Tried to explain to them that it was as much about the showmanship
Last night we were one of the few (7500) people in Tampa that attended the Poison and Motley Crue concert to help celebrate their anniversaries. Poison has been around for 25 years since 1986, and Motley venice italy tour Crue has been touring since 1981. This the 32nd time Motley Crue has had a concert in Tampa, but only our fourth time seeing them.
Poison was great and sang all the hits. So was Motley Crue, but they had a new twist this time, actually a couple of them. The Rock N Roll Drum coaster was pretty cool where the drummer rolled around upside down on this big circle track. They even got a guy from the audience to get strapped into his roller coaster chair and go around with him.
The other twist was at the end of the show when they came out to sing Kickstart your Heart, everyone was wearing coveralls. I thought they might reveal some sexy clothes underneath, but it turns out they didn't want to get any of this red liquid on them that they threw buckets of onto the people in the front rows at the end of the show. I can't believe they did this, and I wouldn't have appreciated it though.
The crowd was small and mellow, maybe because it was a week night but it was a nice pleasant concert. Glad we got the good seats because there was no video big screen for people way in the back, they probably thought they were watching worker venice italy tour ants all night.
Saw KISS last year with my kids. Tried to explain to them that it was as much about the showmanship as the music. It was awesome. awesome close seats for $50 tickets bought outside 5 mins before show started ..If I had the chance to see motley I would want to be more close.
