The helicopter ride was great and the pilot was a pretty good guide and pretty funny, but when I signed up I expected it to be just my guest and I. There was another couple in the helicopter with us. Just wanted others to be aware of this fact. other than that, an awesome experience.
Flight frommers travel guides was fantastic but whole experience was poorly managed. We were stood outside waiting for 2 hours, whilst people with no reservations walked in ahead of us. There was no-one to organise such a large group of people, staff were still bringing people off the streets with no reservations, whilst we had booked months ago. This is a great way to see the city. It gave me a totally different perspective of New York. The views of the stadium, to central park to ellis island and the statue of liberty were all spectacular...What a feeling to see the city from up above with the sun shinning on the Hudson River. I loved it and recomend this tour to anyone visiting New York city!
The ride was an amazing way to see the city in a whole new way. Seeing the new and old Yankee Stadium was great as well as the Statue of Liberty. The 15-20 minutes seem short but it was def enough time! The helicopter was slow enough that we took lots of pics.
The flight was incredible, with amazing views of both the city and NJ. Flying over new and old Yankee Stadium offers a once-in-a-lifetime perspective. Customer service could use some polishing, frommers travel guides however. We arrived 1/2 hour before the flight, as instructed, and waited for an hour with no word from the office staff on any delays.
I have flown in a helicopter before, but was really impressed that the pilot on this occasion really went out of her way to make sure that my 11 year-old son got the most out of the experience. The views were spectacular, and certainly provide a totally different aspect on NY than from the ground. If you are going to take the time to visit NY, a helicopter ride like this really is an absolute must.
This was fantastic, I have never been in one before and am not good with heights but it was brilliant.
