The series, presented by the El Paso Community Foundation and Plaza Classic Film Festival , will open with some classic holiday shorts at 3 p.m. Dec. 3, followed laitana palace hotel in barcelona by It s a Wonderful Life at 7 p.m. Dec. 3, A Christmas Story at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and White Christmas at 6 p.m. Dec. 4.
• The irrepressible documentary filmmaker and ghost story hunter Jackson Polk will have a release event for his latest DVD, Ghost Stories of El Paso, Vol. 3 from 2-5 p.m. Nov. 26 at the El Paso Public Library, 501 N. Oregon.
• Eviva Productions is bringing rappers Chingy laitana palace hotel in barcelona (remember Right Thurr ?) and Cali Swag District ( Teach Me How to Dougie, which I didn t write) double up at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Buchanan s Event Center, 11540 Pellicano.
• M s Lips Lounge is hosting a battle of bands at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19. A total of 12 bands will duke it out for bragging rights and prizes, with six playing each night. Admission is $5 per night at the door.
