There are many ways to rate an airline, and, indeed many have taken a stab at naming the best. There are the world's best airlines according peugeot car 307 rentals france to the SKYTRAX World Airline Awards , and the best American carriers ranked by Wichita State University and Purdue University's Airline Quality Rating, peugeot car 307 rentals france for instance.
"It's probably no surprise that Virgin America and JetBlue top the list, although other rankings peugeot car 307 rentals france may elicit some raised eyebrows," founder (and HuffPost blogger) George Hobica said in a press release. "And it's probably peugeot car 307 rentals france no surprise that the 'legacy' network carriers—Delta, US Airways, American, and United—take up the rear. But what might be a bit of a shock is that Southwest doesn't do much better, tying with Delta, and that AirTran comes in third."

Ok, I agree Virgin America IS the best US airline if you don't mind waiting (too) long a time in SFO to get from Socal to Seattle (no direct flights) and paying extra for baggage. And ok too. SW is not bad. But puleeez, there really is NO really good U.S. airline. Speak to those who travel a lot outside the U.S. (like me) and you will learn quickly that U.S. airlines are the worst in the world. Bar none. Americans who pride themselves on their independence and individuality line up like hopeless sheep to fly these losers thinking its normal to be treated that way because they have no choice really and nothing to compare them too. Another area where the U.S. (unlike the myth) is NOT no. 1.
I tyr and fly once a year to go on vacation and even though I really liked Southwest esp the free luggage checkin I really LIked Midwest (Frontier) I flew it in 09 and even thought hey charge luggage fees I felt they had more leg room! it wasnt as crowded peugeot car 307 rentals france they even give you warm Chocloate chip cookies Free!! and they have pepsi products which is a bonus cause I hate coke products ! I dont know what its like now with being Frontier peugeot car 307 rentals france but I would def fly it again!
May 8, 1989, Southwest LAS to SAN. Aircraft left engine exploded in a fire-bal tempoaryily engulfing the wing only 30 seconds after lift-off. Aircraft pitched 90 degree's to the right 3 times with passengers bulkled in seats but almost upside down as pilot struggled to gain aircraft lift and stability in the stalling 737. Aircraft slowly turned back to land after flying low over freeway 15 and swimming pools of Las Vegas Casino Hotels. Aircraft lands and kept from the terminal for 55 minutes. De-planned to a sobbing Southwest Captain repeating "I'm sorry, I'm sorry".. Now the clincher, the LAS Southest peugeot car 307 rentals france person in charge then beratted the passenger's, no apologies, peugeot car 307 rentals france just a tough, grim, snarling jerk. Myself peugeot car 307 rentals france and 4 other passengers peugeot car 307 rentals france were appalled by the treatment that we all cashed in our tickets and rented a vehicle and drove back to San Diego. The flight was traumatic but the LAS SW management was the reason that I have not taken SWA again. Broken planes, broken customer service. No Thanks.
Don't care who you like now. Years ago you could get on an airplane, be greeted by a young, pretty stewardess in a dress who would take your coat and briefcase and offer a drink before takeoff. Depending on the flight time you would be offered drinks, snacks and meals as appropriate. Everyone smiled and would do anything, within reason, to make a pleasant trip.
Now you're tossed on a plane by Bruce, Chip or someone that looks like your grandmother and weighs 3 times as much. Add that to no food, no drinks, charges for baggage, delayed, overcrowded flights and I'll drive.
The real sad part is the USA carriers and this rating report is the "best of the worst". peugeot car 307 rentals france When you fly the international carriers, the USA airlines don't even rank anywhere near them from the beginning of the process (reservations)-- check-in thru baggage pickup. They are horrible!!! I hate flying the ignorant, lazy, inconsistent, mean USA carriers!!!
I flew US Airways for the first and last time this June, taking my family on a trip to England. I paid almost $6000 for the privilege. After a two hour delay on the ground at Gatwick we missed our connecting flight to Columbus. I walked into the empty customer service room in Charlotte -- no customers, just four CSRs sitting behind a desk -- and asked who could re-book us. One of the CSRs snapped that I had not gone through the line and that she would not help me until I did. I looked around in disbelief -- there was no line to go through. As rudely as she could she told me I could not just come up to her desk and ask for help.
I tell everyone I know who is thinking about flying anywhere to stay off of US Airways. I have flown all the other major carriers with the exception of Virgin America and they are all far, far superior to US Airways, whose customer service motto seems to be "Make your customers as mad as you can by barking orders at them, denying them service and belittling them."
Second, it sucks that they didn't peugeot car 307 rentals france at least offer you a credit towards another flight or something. I had a terrible experience peugeot car 307 rentals france on my flight to Switzerland on Delta about a month ago, and although I probably will never use it, I appreciate the fact that they gave me a $100 credit to apologize for my crappy flight.
Depends what you call a crash. Several years ago one of their 737s landed too fast, went through a fence at Chicago peugeot car 307 rentals france Midway and onto the street killing one person. Another 737 went through an airport fence and into a gas station in another city, narrowly missing the pumps and starting a BIG fire.
