Premium Car Rental Protection (PCRP) is insurance coverage offered to American car rentals Express® Cardmembers to help protect them and their Passengers when the Cardmember uses an enrolled Card to pay for a Car Rental from a Rental Company. Coverage includes 1) reimbursement for damage to or theft of the Rental Auto and personal property, and 2) medical expenses and death and dismemberment benefits resulting from a covered Accident. Coverage is worldwide except for vehicles rented in Australia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, and New Zealand. Enrollment is available to Consumer and Small Business Cardmembers residing in the 50 United States of America or the District of Columbia. This product may not be available car rentals in certain states. Corporate Cardmembers are not eligible.
Up to $100,000 of primary damage and theft coverage for the rental car. Up to $100,000 of Accidental Death or Dismemberment (AD D) coverage. Up to $15,000 per person of excess coverage for Medical Expenses.
Up to $5,000 per person of excess coverage for personal property, maximum of $10,000 for all. For Florida residents, up to $15,000 per person excess coverage for personal property, maximum of $25,000.
Up to $75,000 of primary Damage and Theft coverage for the rental car. Up to $75,000 of Accidental Death or Dismemberment (AD D) coverage. Up to $7,500 per person of excess coverage for Medical Expenses.

There is no cost to enroll in Premium Car Rental Protection, and there are no monthly, annual, or cancellation fees. The Cardmember pays a premium car rentals of $19.95 or $24.95 per rental ($17.95 car rentals for California Residents) each time a rental car is charged to his or her enrolled American Express Card, until coverage is terminated. The premium covers the duration of the rental, for up to 42 consecutive days (up to 30 consecutive days for Washington Cardmembers).

Also, insurance policies often vary in their coverage of rental cars, or out-of-state or international car rentals driving. Cardmembers should check personal policies carefully to see whether car rentals they´re covered for rental cars. But this Plan covers enrollees almost car rentals anywhere in the world.
If you are the Basic Cardmember, your other American Express Card accounts, and any Additional Cards issued on those accounts, are automatically enrolled in the Premium Car Rental Protection Plan. Any Card accounts issued to you in the future, and Additional Cards on those accounts, will also be enrolled. Cards that are not enrolled include Corporate Cards, Additional car rentals Cards enrolled independently, Additional Cards issued to you on someone else s account, and any Card issued by a third-party bank partner of American Express.
Premium Car Rental Protection is underwritten car rentals by AMEX Assurance Company, Administrative Office, Green Bay, WI. Coverage is determined car rentals by the terms, car rentals conditions, and exclusions of Policy AX0610 or Policy PCRP-IND and is subject to change with notice. This document does not supplement or replace the Policy.
When identifying car rentals insurance products that may be of interest to you, American Express may act on behalf of the insurance company and receive compensation that may vary by company and product. American Express may also receive additional financial benefit when AMEX Assurance Company or another American Express entity acts as the insurer or reinsurer car rentals for these products.
By enrolling car rentals in the Premium Car Rental Protection car rentals Plan, you are also enrolling all of your other American Express Card accounts and any Additional Cards issued on those accounts. Any Card accounts issued to you in the future, and Additional car rentals Cards on those accounts, will also be enrolled. The only Cards that will not be enrolled car rentals are Corporate Cards, Additional Cards enrolled independently, and Additional Cards issued to you on someone car rentals else s account and any Card issued car rentals by a third party bank partner of American Express.
When the Cardmember enrolls, Covered Persons under the Plan include you, the Cardmember, and any Passenger, including any Authorized Driver, Boarding, sitting in, riding in or Alighting from the Rental Car.

The Plan covers an eligible Rental Car for the first 42 consecutive days (30 consecutive days for Washington Cardmembers) as long as the Cardmember remains in Possession car rentals of the Rental Car. Coverage is provided anywhere in the world except in Australia, car rentals Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica or New Zealand. If you cancel a refundable car rental reservation, the premium car rentals billed will automatically car rentals be refunded to you. This credit will appear on the statement along with the credited car rental reservation or on the following statement.

Enrollment becomes effective when AMEX Assurance Company receives, accepts and validates Your Enrollment Request Form. Approximately 7-10 days after your enrollment is processed, you will receive verification, which includes car rentals your Plan documents. You may terminate your coverage at any time by means of written notice to American Express at American Express Company, P.O. Box 981525, El Paso, TX 79998-1525 or verbal notice by calling the number on the back of your Card in advance of the intended termination date.
