Under California law, companies collecting personally identifiable information online, including through mobile devices, must post a privacy policy informing consumers of what information is collected and how it is used. California attorney general Kamala Harris said the Fly Delta smartphone app, which allows passengers to check-in for flights and make other transactions, has no posted privacy policy.
By filing the suit in a San Francisco court Thursday, Harris said the state is seeking to enjoin Delta from distributing its app without airline tickets canada cheap a privacy policy and to impose penalties of up to $2,500 for each violation.
Harris said in a statement, California law is clear that mobile apps collecting personal information need privacy policies and that the users of those apps deserve to know what is being done with their personal information.
The airlines are in financial distress as it is. Last thing they need are fines for a privacy policy that no one reads anyway. Every smartphone app collects personal information, so what's the big deal? If anyone is to sue, it should be the consumer. What gives the government the right to sue on my behalf and then collect that money and not give it to me?
what privacy policy airline tickets canada cheap warning? the airline has already got all the info about you except perhaps your blood group, and the client will worry about the airline knowing that he's checked in on-line? hmm...do these lawyers have any common sense?
Well, if the State of California would be a private enterprise, is would be under Chapter 11 protection, if not in Chapter 7. So the California government needs any single penny. THAT's the reason for filing this claim. If CA government officials need some clarification on matters such as apps etc., why not take a ride to Silicon Valley. The folks there could be helpful. - I do hope that the CA government's filing against DL will end in legal desaster - for the CA government!
What would happen if Delta airlines pulled out of California all together? California would lose billons of dollars and also lose hundreds of workers. I think if they need to make money make Hwy1 and Hwy 101 toll roads talk about making billons of dollars. Suing a company like Delta Airlines is crazy that is where jobs and money is made for the airline and the state..
Maybe Delta wasn't aware it was violating some ridiculous law and wasn't asked to comply. CA just jumped on a chance to sue and find a way to make some money. Perhaps Delta is working on it now? I agree though airline tickets canada cheap - IF in the most idiotic outcomes airline tickets canada cheap CA were to win the case - ALL of the violation money goes directly to each individual whose privacy was "violated" and not CA. That would be "representative" government. The fact that we are seeing an article like this and even discussing confirms how NUTS this country has gotten.
I wonder what information that DL could get from a passenger's phone that anyone else could not get. The info that they get is required airline tickets canada cheap by the FAA for security reasons and god forbid an accident. You don't think that Big Brother won't be using the smart phones to keep track of all of us in the future. The phone will be our ID and replace all other forms of ID. They will have GPS and they will be able to track us anywhere we go. It will be a felony to go anywhere without airline tickets canada cheap it. Some countries are already employing this system.
i think the only one who have the right to sue DL is the passenger who gives his personal information freely without any presure to DL may be because he trust and love this carrier he was never imposed for that it was his choice airline tickets canada cheap .so please CA stop this sue
