Today's snowfall proved troublesome for Chicago's first protected bike lane in the loop. Resident year-round cyclist Jerome McDonnell took these photos of the two way cycle track on Dearborn and had this to say about the situation:
The only place there was snow on the street in the Loop was the swanky new bike lane this morning. I thought the city had a plan on this, but maybe not. The building across from city hall was actually shoveling show into the bike lane. I saw a woman fall trying to cut across the pile.
Bike lanes tend to be too narrow for a full-sized plow. This is especially how do i find the cheapest airline fares true when the lane is a PROTECTED lane.
