Keith Urban will gas up his tour bus next year for the Get Closer 2011 World Tour, set to kick off June 16, 2011, in Mobile, Ala. The country superstar will hit cities big and small all over the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, Denver, seattle underground tours Seattle and Washington, D.C., just to name a few, before wrapping up the first leg in Minneapolis on October 15. The tour will feature new stage production and all of Keith's most-beloved hits like 'Sweet Thing,' 'Somebody seattle underground tours Like You,' 'Better Life,' and new tunes from his brand-new ' Get Closer ' album, which was released last week.
"The beautiful thing about playing live is that everybody is in that moment, singing along," Keith tells The Boot of his love for live shows. "There are total strangers singing with total strangers, the same song. It doesn't matter how many people, whether it's five or 50,000, it's people connecting and being in the moment. That's what it's all about."
It's also about creating memories, as Keith has done so successfully over the years. His tours have been notoriously full of surprises. Take, for instance, Keith's show in Louisville, Ky. last year when he invited an 8-year-old boy in the audience on stage with him to sing 'Kiss a Girl.' Or how about his Buffalo, NY show last year, when he walked straight through the arena while still playing his last song of the night and hopped into a cab .
"It's the joy, the electricity, the unexpected, the passion and the unknown journey that we're all taking together," Keith says. "I've always felt that the best live concert experiences tap into a deep need in all of us to feel a part of something ... to belong. I'm bringing the big boom box and an arsenal of songs and I can't wait to throw this party!"
