My friend Mike who is a Rapid Response Engineer in Microsoft based on New York City, sent me this list when I asked him about his top 10 places to see in NYC, as I was going there on vacation. ( I copied and pasted the exact way he sent me).
(10) Fifth Avenue – Christmas shopping (or just window shopping) for fashion; downtown West Broadway has more upscale fashion boutiques (places where you can shop for your wife/husband but things can be a bit expensive that you will be secretly happy that she does not come along).
You should definitely at least have a look at the huge department stores like Saks, Bergdorfs, Barneys and Henri Bendel. Then go for a carriage ride through Central Park, have dinner at Sushi Samba and have a look at SoHo. You could see the Statue of Liberty, and you should go to the Met(I love the Met I go there all the time, it never seems to get boring), however forget MoMa, it s not worth the long wait or the money. If you want to get some bargain designer clthes head down to Century 21 too. Have fun, I hope you enjoy what the city has to offer:)
Check out the Museum of Natural History. I loved it as a child and as an adult. It s huge, extremely interesting and there is something for everyone and, no, the dinosaurs really don t come to life at night! Of course, you have to go see the Statue of Liberty and definitely try a dirty water dog. You ll love em. Have a great time!
