For the second year in a row, HAWAII Magazine is giving away a free round-trip for two to Oahu and a five-day, four-night stay in Waikiki to attend the 2012 Aloha Festivals in our HAWAII Magazine Aloha Festivals Oahu Flyaway.
The Aloha Festivals, now in its 66th year, is one of Hawaii s longest-running cultural showcases and celebrations of Hawaii music, dance and history. Founded in 1946 as Aloha Week, the celebration was renamed Aloha Festivals in 1991.
Among the fests' highlights is the Annual Aloha Festivals Floral Parade . Set for Sept. 22, the parade will kick off at Ala Moana Beach Park, head down Waikiki beachfront main drag Kalakaua Avenue, and end at Kapiolani Park at the foot of Diamond Head. And from start to finish, parade participants will include a colorful equestrian procession hotels hong kong pau riders, flower-bedecked floats, hula halau (hula groups) and marching bands.
All entries must be received by midnight (Hawaii time) on Tues., Aug. 21. We will select one winner from all entries, at random, on Thurs., Aug. 23, 2012. The winner will be given 24 hours from the time the prize winning notification is sent to reply via email before the flyaway goes to another randomly selected recipient of big-time aloha.
